in Schoppel Wolle, Admiral ombre 1702
using a 100cm, 2mm Hiya Hiya circular needle
I`m hoping the tram lines will disappear after the first wash, and if I`m honest I may have to undo the cast off and try a different one as it isn`t really stretchy enough, it`s fine when it`s on, but it`s the getting it on, if you see what I mean.
I then went to the other extreme, and using the 20mm needles that came free with Let`s Knit, and a ball and a half of 3 Suisses Claridge (circa 1973) that I picked up for 10p at a bootsale last year, I created a garter stitch scarf in an evening. It`s actually quite cosy, and there is a slight colour variation which doesn`t show up in the picture, this is destined for one of my Christmas shoe boxes (yes I know it is only February but I`m going to reduce that stash somehow).

Lovely colour socks aren't they! I knit socks magic loop as I can't handle hedgehog needles. The tramlines can be prevented by moving the first stitches along a bit every few rows (so a new row is started in a new place) and by knitting a little bit tighter on the first stitch on the new row.
Those are fab socks :D Can I add that tramlines can also be stopped by pulling on the second stitch. And even if you complained all the way through, you'll get better and more accustomed to the method which will make it much easier and therefore will provoke less noisy knitting ;)
Love the contrast photo - I've been scared of those 20mm needles since they've arrived - I've used 15mm ones several times but those look positively petite next to these monsters!
Congratulations on the socks - I'm sure you must want to knit more really :o)
Love the socks, great colours and the yarn looks really cosy.
I got that mag with the big needles too, but haven't attempted to use them yet!
Those socks look fantastic,I love the colours. I have the same problem with the casting off of socks, I always do it too tight.
The scarf look fab too, those needles are great aren't they!
Well the socks look great to me and I love the colour of the scarf which looks very cosy and squishy!
Those socks are a beautiful colour. I'm sure the tramlines will go. What do you think of the magazine? I bought the first one but haven't bothered since. Most unlike me, as I find magazines have an irresistible draw!
The Sock are great. I still prefer dpns and I think I always will.
